FREMONT, CA: Sustainable technology and services company, BioHiTech Global, announced its first lease contract for the Altapure AP-4 high-level disinfectant technology to a K-12 public school district located in Pennsylvania, referred to as the School District. The School District will utilize the Altapure AP-4 as a part of its protocol to help protect schools within the district from the spread of coronavirus disease and potential infections from other viruses and bacteria.
The comapny conducted two product demonstrations with representatives from the School District during the summer to show how the Altapure AP-4 achieves hospital-grade disinfection of classrooms, bathrooms and other common areas, including everything within sites such as toys, Chromebooks, computers, rugs, carpeting, and sports equipment.
"The implementation of the Altapure AP-4 with this School District is an important milestone for BioHiTech as we have achieved our first commercial success with this exciting new opportunity for our company," said Frank E. Celli, CEO of BioHiTech. "Education represents a very important market opportunity for us and we are confident other school districts around the nation will follow this district's leadership in creating a safer environment for learning. We all want our schools to reopen, but we want to make sure we are doing everything to keep our children and teachers as safe as possible when they are physically back in school."
The comapny expects to deliver the unit in the coming weeks and to conduct and broadcast a live demonstration with the School District at a ceremony to take place in the coming weeks. The Altapure AP-4 is an enhanced, automated and touchless high-level disinfection sub-micron aerosol system that was launched in 2017. It provides a safe process and rapid kill of spores, viruses, and vegetative bacteria, such as but not limited to COVID-19, Acinetobacter baumanii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, VRE, MRSA, Bacillus atrophaeus, Geobacillus stearothermophilus, Poliovirus, C. auris and Clostridium difficile (C. difficile).
"This system can be used as part of an ongoing cleaning protocol to periodically disinfect classrooms and equipment. It can also ensure that if a child or teacher tests positive for COVID-19, or some other virus, utilizing an automated process, school employees can quickly achieve a high-level disinfection of any potentially affected rooms to cut down on the chance of spread. We look forward to working with this customer in their important efforts to get students safely back to school and for other educational institutions to follow suit through our continued product demonstration and distribution efforts," added Celli.
